Sinking
The Agnes, being of no further commercial use, was scuttled between the Five Fathom Bank and Straggler Rocks. Anything of value would have been removed from the Agnes before it was scuttled. This wreck is most likely ‘Stragglers Unidentified’ found by Graeme Henderson and Jim McGinty in 2009.
Underwater
The site is heavily broken up into sections of hull plating and deck beams, with few immediately obvious recognizable features. The stern to the east is identifiable by the steering quadrant, sternpost and propeller aperture (with propeller missing) indicating a self-propelled single screw vessel. The bow is to the west, marked by the furthermost section of identifiable wreckage and possible keel/ stem forefoot. The stern is a counter style stern based on shape of the deck beam shelf on one broken section to the north of the sternpost. There are no signs of any engine machinery, pumps, winches or boilers etc, indicating the site was totally stripped before being discarded.
